Duke Of Edinburgh Awards For Brigaders

Three Years In Aussie

Return Trip

The presentation of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards to members of the Gisborne Girls' Brigade took place in the Baptist Hall, on August 4. The National Commissioner, Mrs Nancy Roscoe, came especially from Wellington to make the presentations. From left: Mrs Roscoe, Rosalyn Bayram, Ngaire Lougher, Kathleen Parkin, Lynnette Wallen (silver), Karen Ross (bronze) and Mrs Nan Webster, who took the girls through the courses. Absent: Beverley Broome, Elizabeth Lees, Wendy Andrews and Susan Ballantyne.

Miehael Bugden, son of Mrs Alfreda Bugden, has been travelling around Australia for the past three years, on a working holiday. He is pictured with his mother, in Melbourne, where she visited him on her way back from her trip to South Africa.

Taking off on a return trip to England after 32 years is Mr Bill Allen and his wife Betty, of 173 Roebuck Road. They will visit Mr Allen's folks, who still live in Nottingham. At the airport to see them off was their immediate family, who are pictured with them, here.
