New Library Playground

As the result of a bequest from the late Alfred Cox to Greater Gisborne, a new playground for youngsters was opened recently. Situated on the Bright Street side of the Public Library, the playground was designed by Mr Colin Pilbrow and constructed at a cost of $2700.

Admiring the water mobile at the opening ceremony were, from left, Mr Pilbrow, Mayor Harry Barker, chief librarian Miss R. McKay, P.R.O. Allan O'Donnell, Library committee chairman Mr Martin Lynch, Greater Gisborne president Mr Ian Miller and Mr Maurice McIntyre.
