Mr Vic Davy's Weimarana bitch 'Champion Riverdrive Penny Tinker' (imp. Aust.) walked away with the Best Weimarana in Show at the Fido National Dog Show, held in Wellington recently. Penny is only 19 months old and this German gun dog has already done very well in shows, taking four other titles. She won the Best of Breed at the National Dog Show last year, Best Junior Gun Dog at the Gisborne Autumn Show, Best Gun Dog Pup in Show at the last Taupo Show, and Reserve Best Gun Dog at the Wairoa January Show.

Mrs Lorraine Bothamley's Persian cat, 'Strathleven Silver Pearl,' carted off the Any Other Colour Cat of The Year title at the Annual Persian Cat Show, also held in Wellington recently. This 21-month-old animal is unbeaten so far, in shows, with the Silver Pearl Best A.O.C. at the Lower Hutt Show, the week before the Wellington Show, and three weeks before that, took the same title at the Have-lock North Show.
