Fantastic Success
$17,000 From Industries Fair
Due to skilful organisation, the high standard of exhibits, and the behind the scenes help of more than 500 people, the Industries Fair, organised to raise funds for the Girls' High School P.T.A. for school expenditure, netted $17,000. More than 23,000 people attended the fair, which included plenty of entertainment, in Williams and Kettle's woolstore.
Winning Couple
Highlight of the entertainment scene was the contest for The Ideal Couple, which was promoted by the N.Z.B.C. After eliminations during the week of the fair, and a final on the Saturday night, James and Margaret Mason, were judged the winners. They were presented with their prize, a trip to the South Island, by N.A.C. representative Mike Brittenden (left). Other finalists are also shown.
