After 80 years, the Chrisp Co. Ltd will cease trading under that name. The business has been taken over by Guy and Dunsmore Ltd. Four generations of the Chrisp family have been in the business since trading began in 1891, when the firm was founded by Mr Edmund Chrisp. His son, Mr James Chrisp took over control just after the turn of the century. In 1931 Mr George Chrisp, the grandson (left), became the owner, and he is pictured with the fourth generation member of the business, his son Mr John Chrisp. Mr George Chrisp is retiring after 52 years in the business, while son John has decided to accept a position overseas.
