$200 Raised
Two hundred dollars was raised for the Crippled Children Society from a parade of historical English dresses, made and compered by Molly Cook, and modelled by Alice Graham, both of Wellington. The gowns, from Edward III to Elizabeth I, were correct in every detail. The parade took place at a wine and cheese evening.
Introductory speakers were Mrs Esme Tombleson, M.P., and Mrs John Hawks-worth, wife of the Society president.
