Te Wharau Topics
The lunch hours at Te Wharau School have been pretty busy of late. Fund-raising has been the order of the day. Standard 4 has been hard at it, running a 'Miss Te Wharau School' contest. Parades and questionnaires (just like the big contests) took place in the library and the class raised $5.00. This will be donated to the Red Cross.
Entrants taking part were, from left, Rosemary Gibson (compere), Roslynn Smith (second), Ruth Chapman, Toni Hatwell, Gae Johnstone, Linnane Tautau, Carmen Puki and Johanna Newell (the winner).
The other contestants were Susan Priske, Janet Roberts, Julie Kinloch, Sandra Cox (third) Diane Morrow, Debbie Dominey and Wendy Andrew.
Room two of Standard four, held an outstandingly successful shop day, raising $60.00 towards their trip to Camp Kaitawa. Five of those staffing the stall were, from left, Marie Compier, Debra Nicholson, Raewyn Rickard, Shereena Moy and Sara McCulley.
