N.Z Champs

After being cancelled twice in New Plymouth, due to poor conditions, the surf was fairly good for the finals of the 1972 national boardriding championships, held at Waikanae Beach over Queen's Birthday weekend. Gisborne riders did particularly well in the senior men's and knee-board events, taking 2nd,3rd and 4th, and 1st and 2nd places, respectively.
