An Abundance Of Talent

An abundance of talent is to be found in and around Gisborne. This was obvious at the final of the Radio Gisborne Talent Quest. Heats were held in Wairoa, Te Karaka, Tolaga Bay, Tokomaru Bay and Ruatoria, with selected contestants taking part in the grand final in the War Memorial Hall. Proceeds from the grand final, totalling $300, went to the Y.M.C.A. Proceeds in the other centres were donated to a worthwhile cause in that place.
