See How They Go
The Poverty Bay Play-centre's Sub-Association conducted a publicity week from April 19 to 23. The various playcentres in the district held open days, which allowed not only people with children at present attending to see how the centres are run, but also gave future parents an opportunity to study playcentres' operations.

The Te Karaka playcentre also used the week to promote fund-raising activites. Here the young ones take off for their part in the sponsored Walkathon. Needless to say, it wasn't too far.
Miss New Zealand, Linda Ritchie, visited the Elgin centre. She is shown with, from left, Mrs R. Knight, Robert Knight, Henry Huhu, Mrs N. Huhu and Mrs B. Hughes, centre supervisor.
