Show-Biz Visit

A quick and busy visit to the Auckland show-biz scene was undertaken by vocalist Doug Walsh, recently. Spotted by Johnny Devlin, when he was in Gisborne some weeks back, Doug was persuaded to go to Auckland where he took part in the McWilliams' Easter Happening at the Great Northern Hotel's Wintergarden. He was backed by top Auckland group "Nozark." While in the big smoke, Doug was also auditioned for TV's Happen In.

Getting to meet Miss New Zealand, Linda Ritchie, was a great moment for these young people of Cobham School. Linda had a hectic few minutes signing autograph books and chatting with the children, before continuing on her busy Gisborne schedule.
