Bowen's Boys

Godfrey Bowen's Expo '70 Wool and Ram display drew large crowds to the Y.M.C.A. stadium. The display, with its supplementary fashion parade, was fascinating to say the least, especially as the rams (sheep being what they are) were incredibly docile and well trained. They just skipped up onto the ramp and down again as required with no fuss at all. Each ram was of a different breed and the fashion parade showed garments made of the different types of wool.

An added attraction at the display was a demonstration of shearing by New Zealand's champion junior shearer, Gisborne's Nuku Smiler.
