Two Centuries And Two

Two hundred and two years after his landing, and two years after the magnificent celebrations to mark the two hundred year anniversary, a disappointingly small crowd turned out for the anniversary of Captain Cook's arrival in Poverty Bay.

The battle-class destroyer Hmas Anzac paid a four day visit to Gisborne to coincide with the anniversary of Cook's landing.
