Educational Visit

Paparutu Pupils on Logging Ship

Pupils of the Paparatu School descended from the outback recently to visit the Japanese logging ship "Kaiyo Maru" and study for themselves the workings of the ship and log loading procedures. A return visit was paid to the school by some of the ship's company to see the pupils at work. On board the "Kaiyo Maru" they were entertained at afternoon tea where they tried the unusual experiment of eating biscuits with chopsticks.
