Hot Rods Hold Attention

Members of the Gisborne Hot Rodders Club staged an excellent display of their ears on June 5. Good crowds visited the show all day to see local hot rods and some of the visiting cars on exhibition.

Alan Hessell puts the finishing touches to his Mini Tee. Its body is a Custom T, the chassis a modified '32 Austin 7, the backend is a '54 Humber '0, the front end a '32 Austin 7, the gearbox a '67 Triumph Herald, the engine a 1200ec Triumph and the carburation twin 1¼" Strombergs.

Part of the display wich was held in the Gisborne Sheepfarmers' woolstore in Innes Street.

"Vigilanty," owned by stock car driver John Agnew of the Sulphur City (Rotorua to you) Rod and Custom Club. Its motor is a 1968 Valiant with six Amel carbs and full race cam by Scotty McPherson, the diff a 1938 Dodge, with a Dodge Fargo gear box. Looking on are Reg Phillips and Wayne Harris.
