Out and About

Ten United States students of the American Field Service student exchange scheme were guests of Gisborne members of the A.F.S. recently. A highlight of their weekend was a trip out on the Bay in the jet rescue boat. The group is pictured in the boat before taking their rides in small groups.

Around-the-world correspondence resulted in 18-year-old Roslyn August, of Ann Street, obtaining a most unusual birthday present for her mother-what must be New Zealand's smallest bottle of "Coca Cola". Roslyn's mother is an avid collector of miniature bottles and Roslyn felt that a bottle of "Coca Cola" would be an interesting addition to the collection as a birthday gift. After inquiries through Auckland and the home office of "Coca Cola" in Atlanta, U.S.A., Roslyn received the miniature she desired. The small bottle, a perfect replica of the real thing, is only three inches high and contains real "Coca Cola". It is pictured (Left) with a big quart bottle. Roslyn is pictured below with "Coca Cola" agent manager, Frank Mead.
