Gone – For $250

×

The Turanganui Hotel, although not the oldest hotel in Gisborne, would be one of the most historic. It was here in the 1870s and '80s that the jetties were situated on the riverbank across the road and the hotel did a thriving trade. The Turanganui was the seventh hotel in seven years to be erected in Gisborne. It was opened in 1875. The hotel closed its doors for the last time recently and at auction was sold for $250. The buyer has two months to remove it.
