Wind-Up Winner
A bang-on wind-up dinner was held to mark the end of the rugby season for the boys of the Pirates' Saturday morning football club. After a smashing feed of "grub" the awards for the most improved player in each grade were announced.
Winners of the awards were, from left: Robert Wagner (12th grade), Tuherangi Haapu (11th), Dave Edwards (10th), and Geordie Witters (8th). Absent: Mark Hingi (13th). At back are Lyle Kennedy (club president), Don MacDonald (treasurer), and Monty Gilbert (president of the Referees' Association).
With all that's left of a crate of Coke are Patrick Sheridan, Greg James, Anthony Blackburne and Max Elliott.
