After 20 years' obliging service on the hosiery and stationery counter at Woolworths, Miss Leah Lamont retired on January 5.

A function was held at Ulverstone to mark Miss Lamont's retirement. The people in this picture have a total of 86 years' service with Woolworths between them. Now serving his first appointment, as Curate of the Church of England, Greymouth, is the Reverend David Gribble, whose address is 201 Tainui Street. David, who is the son of Mrs Edith Gribble, 22 Muir Street, is an old pupil of the Boys' High School. He is pictured with his wife Noeline, and daughters Sarah, Ruth and Miriam.
