Great Camp-Out

A great time was had by those Guides who attended the Endeavour Camp which was held towards the end of the school holidays.

The camp was established at Turihaua Station and broken in to three areas which were known as Solander, Banks and Monk-house camps.

Sixty girls from Wairoa, Ruatoria, Gisborne, and outlying districts attended the camp.

Discussions and participation in archery, clay modelling, botany and Maori crafts were among some of the activities organised during the week-long camp.

Even a daily newsletter was published giving Guides the gen on camp activities. This was put out by Mrs Muriel Mitchell and Jenny Thomson.
