New Shearing Record Set

A new world shearing record was set just before Christmas when 3,266 Romney lambs were shorn in a nine hour day. Eight men from Robbie Cooper's gangs established the record on Huiarua Station at the back of Tokomaru Bay. The previous record was 3,360 but under the strict new rules and supervision of the New Zealand Wool Board the new record stands at 3,266.
