Pictures from the Past

The opening of the new William Pettie bridge recently brought back memories to many people of the opening of the Peel Street bridge 46 years ago. The then mayor, George Wildish, Esq., declared the bridge open in December, 1923.

From Max Fry we took copies of these shots taken of the bridge being built and the opening ceremony.
