The new sub-division on Hillary Heights Road is almost completed. The area runs off the end of Hill Road, which is reached from Ballance Street, and commands magnificent views of the city and bay. Some very big trees were removed from some of the sections recently and one of the stumps can be seen (left) as it is carted away.

The Harbour Board's new signal station on the breakwater is now under construction. It will replace the present one which is situated near the second light tower.

The Poverty Bay Bowling Club had alterations made to their pavilion during the winter recess and what was once the open verandah has now been closed in and made into a very comfortable lounge. The interior of the new lounge is pictured at right.
