Iris Show

Gisborne is believed to have staged the first all-iris display in N.Z. The exhibition blooms were of a very high standard and the colour range wide. On show for the first time were several blooms from irises imported from U.S.A. Among them was "Stepping Out" which was awarded the Dykes medal, the highest award in the world for an iris.
