A toast to victory? This picture was taken at the Entertainment Ball in Auckland and shows two ex-Gisbornites, John and Bette Berry, with Auckland's new Mayor, Mr D. M. Robinson. The Gisborne couple now live in Mt Albert, and John, who left journalism for a successful career in Public Relations, is still connected with show business as a writer for television's The Late Show. Bette will be remembered for her stage work in Gisborne.
