Becoming Big Business

Grape growing for wine is a booming business on the rich land near Gisborne, but in addition to sun and soil, grape growers need all the information they can get on the establishment and care of their vineyards.

A field day was held recently on the property of Mr Stuart Lawry at Matawhero where lectures and demonstrations were given on the training of vines and the control of diseases and pests in growth.
