The St. John Association held its annual prize-giving in the Ambulance Hall. The function was combined with a shipwreck dance.

At a function held recently, members of the Poverty Bay Charity Dog Trial Club gathered to present a cheque for $300 to I.H.C. This was accepted on behalf of the society by their president, Mrs Nora Steed. The cheque was from the proceeds of the dog trials held last May. Cadet Supervisor, retired, Mrs L. M. Richardson, presented the top trophies to Heather Stevenson (Wendy Bickford Cup), Anne Stevenson (Richardson Cup), and Roseanne Bloxham (H.G. Russell Cup).
