Going! Going...

The auctioneer's cry will be heard in bigger and better surroundings by buyers of fruit and vegetables at the markets from now on. The new administration building and produce market of Thomas Corson and Son Ltd. was opened by the Prime Minister, Mr Holyoake, on November 22. The new structure has plenty of room, both inside for the display of produce, and outside for the off-loading of goods.

To mark the occasion, members of the executive staff presented Mr Corson with a silver salver. From left (with the number of years they have been with the firm) are Messrs Ernest Phillips (43 years), John Solvander (27), Jim Dunsmore (25), Miss May Higham (27) and Mr Ian Stewart (30).
