A New Era

A new era in aerial topdressing has begun with the advent of James Aviation's Fletcher 10-60 prop-jet aircraft. The only one of its kind in the world, the plane was designed by Dennis Kemp of Air New Zealand for a three company consortium. They are James Aviation, Thames Aerial Top-dressing Co., and Robertson's of Hamilton. The plane cost in the vicinity of $92,000 to complete. A demonstration was held recently to demonstrate its pace and nanoeuvreability. Exceptionally noticeable was its quick climbing rate with a full load on board.
