People And Their Hobbies

Bob Herivel of 21 Owen Road has an unusual hobby in the making of saddles. The saddle making takes place in a small shed at the back of his property which he has converted into a workshop.

The leather is obtained in sides, which is half a hide, from which the pattern pieces are cut. These are sewn over the tree or basic frame which Bob also makes himself.

For extra comfort sponge rubber and natural wool are incorporated in the seat and panel. Patterns and styles are evolved for each saddle and no two are exactly alike.
