The 21st anniversary of the opening of the Mangatuna Memorial Gates was celebrated recently. Visiting clergyman, the Reverend Keith Elliott, V.C., Wellington, conducted the memorial service before a large crowd.

These large horse-mushrooms were found at Manutuke by Pat Burton and Wiki Lewis. The size of them can be gauged by the 20 cent piece on the upturned mushroom.

From Dave Sherriff, Ouepoto Station, Waipawa, comes this pic of two other ex-Tolaga Bay-ites. They are Claud and Dee Sidney who are fencing on the three thousand acre property right on the coast where Dave is managing. The boys were looking for pauas when Dee saw the barracuda's tail in the murky water. He grabbed it and threw it out onto the rocks where they killed it. Claud found the mussel, the biggest yet seen in the area, and had it for breakfast.
