Families Gather

Their immediate family is Nolan, Ailsa (Mrs Kume) (both of Gisborne). Rex (Otoko), Dallas (Motu), Yvonne (Mrs McRae, Tauranga), and Lionel (Motu).

During Labour weekend a reunion was held of most of the descendants of Mr and Mrs William Dean Lysnar. Mr Lysnar was the first school master in Gisborne, about 1872. The couple had five sons and four daughters and of those, five (Douglas, Fred, Harold, Hilton and Ida (Mrs J. C. Field), have sons or daughters in the photo. Total descendants now include 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. From left are Miss Winnifred Lysnar, Godfrey, Sybil (Mrs Lancaster), Francie (Mrs Jex-Blake), Alice (Mrs Gibson), Reuben, Wathen, Douglas, Miss Muriel Lysnar, Martin and Marjorie (Mrs Forsyth).

Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary are Mr and Mrs George Richardson of 89 Birrell Street. After spending most of their lives at Motu they came to Gisborne 20 years ago.
