Under the direction of Mr Bert Hanlen, this grand piano was shifted from the Opera House to the R.S.A. Hall. The heavy instrument required some dismantling but did not present too great a difficulty in its transfer. With Mr Hanlen (centre) are the city council men who did the job.

More than a grain of truth in this, wouldn't you say? The sign is outside the Church of Christ in Roebuck Road.

There are always some wags about to chivvy a prospective groom. We wonder what he actually said when he saw "Get me to the church on time", "It's not too late yet", and even "Help!" among the decorations.

You know how easy it is to get bits of egg shell along with the yolk and white when you crack one, don't you? Well, Bill and Lorna Mallon of 160 Rutene Road have a breed of hen that lays eggs (well one anyway) that has a serrated line around it to make for easy and clean breaking. Youngest son Barrie holds up this oddity for our inspection.
