Introducing

....George and Lily Louie run a greengrocery and dairy on the corner of Gladstone Road and Albert Street. Members of the Gisborne Chinese Association, they have four children. Much of their time is spent working in the shop or at their market garden at Matawhero, but during the season George enjoys a spot of duck and game bird shooting.

....Albert Edwards is car salesman at Simpson Motors, Gladstone Road and Disraeli Street corner. He lives with his wife and son at 128 Fox Street, and spends his spare time in the garden or working on cars.

....Mike Vita, proprietor of Vita's Service Centre, corner of Gladstone and Roebuck Roads, lives with his wife and three children at 11 Huxley Road. His interests include rugby, boating, and trout fishing at Lake Waikaremoana.

....Pat McQuillan and Bob Port are fitter and welder respectively at the Gisborne Harbour Board's workshops. Pat, who was responsible for the construction of the two 108ft lighting towers at the new wharf, is C.S.M. of the Gisborne Territorial Amy Company, and is coach of the H.S.O.B. third grade rugby team. He lives at 4 Shaw Street. Bob, of 20 Miro Street, is married with three children, is a member of the Foresters' Lodge, and enjoys fishing and following rugby.
