Sky High

Members of the Gisborne Aero Club were hosts recently to members of the Rotorua Aero Club who "dropped in" for an over-night stop on a weekend jaunt which took them on a circuit through Whakatane, Opotiki, Gisborne, Napier, Palmerston North and back home in two days. Over thirty Rotorua people came in ten planes, one of which held particular interest. This was the Mooney Mark 21, a clean-lined, high performance plane which attains a maximum speed of 180 m.p.h. The four seater can certainly move and the pic above shows the plane out over the bay with Nick's Head in the background.
