Comings And Goings

John and Audrey Norrie, and family (from left) Lynette, Martyn, and Stephen, of 455 Aberdeen Road, are moving to Waihi. Former head security officer at the Gisborne branch of the Bank of New Zealand, John has been promoted to accountant of the Waihi branch. He has been in Gisborne 12 years, the last seven of which he has served as secretary of the Te Hapara School committee.

Michael Walker, 21, son of Mr and Mrs A. T. Walker, Taruheru Crescent, is going on a working holiday to Australia where he will stay with his sister, Elizabeth (Mrs Kelly), at Wollongong. Michael recently completed his electrical apprenticeship with Powell and Sexton.

John and Joyce Old, and daughter Adrienne, of 22 Sievwright Lane, are moving to Helensville where John will take the position of manager of the Australia and New Zealand Bank. He has been accountant of the Gisborne branch for four-and-a-half years.

Christine Boyce is going to Australia to secure a job with Kodak film laboratories in either Sydney or Melbourne. Residing at 17 Temple Street, she came to Gisborne from Wanganui five years ago and has been working as a studio and candid photographer for Mayfair Studios.

Off to Palmerston North are Tas and Lyn Davie, and son Paul, of 8 Dillon Bell Road. A technician at the Gisborne telephone exchange, Tas has been promoted to senior technician at Palmerston North.

From Rotorua comes Mr C. L. Costello to take the position of Commissioner of Crown Lands in Gisborne vacated by the retirement of Mr F. W. Brown. Married with a family, Mr Costello was formerly assistant superintendent of land development at Rotorua.

From Napier are Ian and Cecily McDougal, and family (from left) Lynn, Jennifer, David, and Mark, who are living at 22 Lyndhurst Street. Ian has transferred from Napier to be a supervisor of the postal branch of Gisborne Post Office. The children will be attending St. Mary's and Edmund Campion Colleges.

Colin Kerr, son of Mr and Mrs Ray Kerr, 121 Main Road, Makaraka, who has been on the telegraph staff of the Gisborne Post Office for the past 18 months, has left the city to attend a three-month course at the Trentham training centre. From there he will probably be posted to some other district.
