Photographed together after the recent nurses' graduation ceremony are Mrs S. Bohm (Director of Nursing), who was the guest speaker, Miss Y. J. Sinclair (Matron), and Miss R. D. Bunt, who retired last year from the nursing profession as matron of the Cook Hospital.

A member of the Mangapapa Co. for the last four years, Guide Anne Scholes, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. C. Scholes, 190 Fox Street, was recently awarded her Queen's Guide badge. Pictured receiving her badge from Miss W. O'Halloran (Divisional Commissioner of Girl Guides), Anne is also joint winner of the Johnson Cup. This is presented for the patrol pennant most used during the year.

Retiring after 50 years with the company is Mr H. K. Twigley from Common Shelton & Co. At a farewell cocktail party held in the staff cafeteria a chair was given to Mr Twigley to mark his retirement. With the guest of honour is Mrs Twigley, the company secretary Mr N. A. Bennett and the manager, Mr E. A. Oakley (back right).

Under the auspices of Youth for Christ a very large audience attended the Gisborne address of evangelist Redd Harper, of Los Angeles, which followed a dinner at Ulverstone. On a Dominion-wide tour Redd is pictured with local chairman Geoff Winter (left) and Wilbur Wright.
