P.B. Defeated by Seven Points

In a somewhat disappointing game Poverty Bay was unlucky to be defeated by Hawkes Bay at Rugby Park on, August 5 before a large crowd. The final score was Hawkes Bay's 13 to Poverty Bay's six, a difference of seven points, which could have been closer with a little more luck for Poverty Bay, particularly as they carried the game well into Hawkes Bay's half during the second spell.
