Footballers of the future were seen in action recently when members of a Gisborne 13th grade team clashed with a Te Karaka primary team. Gisborne were the victors by three points to nil and the fast-moving game had the spectators more excited than a rep match.

The winning team with coach Bob Brown is, at back, Anthony Blackburn, Paul McGuinness, Leslie Thompson, Paul Neilson, Gerald Grieg, Barry Houlihan, Chris Meeban, Bruce Lamont, Mark Leydon, Neville West, and, in front, Michael Quirk, Wayne Ross, David Ngatai, Allan Humble, Danny Rigney, Stephen Byrne, Joseph Jeffries, Nigel Moiser, Ross Browne and Geoffrey Davenport.
