Old folk from Te Wiremu House visited Mrs B. H. Dodge's begonia houses at 536 Gladstone Road to admire the beautiful blooms. Among the visitors were, from left: Mesdames E. O'Neill, M. Thompson, B. Hislop, Mr C. Parker, and Mrs E. Turner.

Mr Sid Mead and wife June (nee Walker, formerly of Ruatoria), and daughters Aroha and Linda, pictured outside a student dormitory at the University of Southern Illinois, U.S.A., where Mr Mead is studying for his Ph.D in anthropology. Prior to leaving for America Mr Mead graduated M.A. from Auckland University, where he also lectured, while Mrs Mead was a teacher at Auckland Girls' Grammar School.
