Comings And Goings

Miss Patricia Moore, Childers Road, has come to Gisborne from Taupiri, near Hamilton, to be Station 2ZG shopping reporter.

Mr and Mrs F. T. Swindell, 201 Rutene Road, are leaving after 26 years in Gisborne. Former accountant at the National Bank, Mr Swindell will now be manager of the Otorohanga branch. He was assistant Area Commissioner of the P.B. zone of Boy Scouts, and a director of the Y.M.C.A. Mrs Swindell has been a vice-president of Unity Theatre since its inception, and has produced many plays. She has also given ten years'service to Meals on Wheels, and is the local secretary of the Community Art Service and New Zealand Opera Company.

Mr and Mrs E. S. Adye and family (from left) Michael, Caroline, Katherine, Peter, and Alison, formerly of 118 Whitaker Street, have left New Zealand for a one-year visit to their home town near Bristol, England. Mr and Mrs Adye have been in this country for ten years, the last six of which have been spent in Gisborne where Mr Adye was engineer to the Cook County Council. He has also taken an active interest in competitive swimming, is a member of the Savage Club, and the High School Board of Governors. The family intends returning to Gisborne next January.

Mr and Mrs Ken Izzard and family Toni, Michael, and Brian (right) have moved to Hamilton. Coming from Auckland five years ago, Mr Izzard was the Gisborne Post Office district radio inspector, and has now transferred on promotion. During his stay, he served for three years as secretary to the local Royal Life-saving Society, and was on the committee of the Tainui Sea Scouts with Mrs Izzard as secretary.
