Mercantile Running Relay

Twenty-eight teams, representing city business houses, contested the Gisborne Amateur Athletic Club's annual mercantile relay at the Childers Road Reserve.

Running four 110 yard legs on the straight course in front of the grandstands, the finalists put up a great battle with Williams and Kettle wool store team emerging victorious.

Second place went to Post Office engineers, with Bank of New South Wales third.
