"Miss Tamarau" Beauty Contest

Not to be outdone by this year's "Miss Gisborne" beauty contest, members of the Tamarau C.W.I. held a contest of their own, in which eight "eye-smashing" beauties paraded before the judges for the title of "Miss Tamarau".

The judges found their task a difficult one, and for their decision took refuge in taking a number from a hat. The winner was Mrs Marion Hall.

The contest was a sketch staged by the institute at its end-of-year function in the Kaiti Progressive Association's hall.
