Gisborne telephone exchange chief technician Mr D. P. Lane, 631 Childers Road, has been transferred to Christchurch where he has taken the position of supervising technician.

Miss Christine Malpas, 214 Wainui Road, has left Gisborne to work at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand head office in Wellington.

Rob Booth (left), son of Mr and Mrs G. J. O. Booth, Ngatapa, and Oliver Kissling, son of Mr and Mrs K. M. Kissling, 54 Clifford Street, left Gisborne last month for a one-year working holiday in Britain and the Continent.

Dick and Jenny Glover, late of Norman Road, have moved to Auckland where Dick will take a teaching position at the Auckland Grammar School. A former member of the Boys' High School staff, he was coach of the very successful first XV last season. He was also chief instructor for the Waikanae Surf Life-saving Club. Jenny would be best remembered for her portrayals of leading roles in the Operatic Society's productions of the past four years. In Auckland she will further her singing with voice training lessons from Sister Leo, of St. Mary's Convent.

Captain and Mrs R. H. Ford and family (from left) Raewyn, Iris, John, and Dorothy, formerly of 156 Whitaker Street, have transferred to Ashburton where Captain Ford will be Commanding Officer of the local Salvation Army Corp. For the past two years he has been Commanding Officer in Gisborne, coming then from Petone.
