Old Bank Demolished

The remaining portion of the old Australia and New Zealand Bank in lower Gladstone Road, which was vacated several months ago for an impressive new building next door, was broken down and removed over the past two months by the East Coast Demolition Company.

Employing a mobile crane with swinging ball, the building was slowly but surely battered into a heap of broken bricks and rubble.

There are no definite plans for the vacated section, which will be put up for sale in the immediate future.
