Mr and Mrs Peter McMechan have both graduated M.A. with honours in the past two years. Mrs McMechan was formerly Miss Barbara MacLean, daughter of Mrs Barron, Waiohika, Hexton, and stepdaughter of Mr D. A. Barron. She is now teaching at Karamu High school.

Well-known former Gisborne operatic singer, Miss Doreen Morrow, spent eight weeks' holiday with her father, Mr I. V. Morrow, 45 Cobden Street, after a long period of overseas theatre work. During her stay in Gisborne, she visited her aunt, Mrs A. Waugh, Birrell Street, where she met a cousin who has had considerable success in dancing circles, Raewyn King, daughter of Mr and Mrs N. B. King, Mahia, They are pictured admiring some of Raewyn's trophies.

Bill Tehau, son of the late Mr and Mrs Eripi Tehau, Muriwai, celebrated his coming of age with a party at his sister's flat at Titahi Bay, Wellington.
