African Dancers In Town

Show business promoter Harry Wren's authentic African Dancers spent two days in Gisborne recently for their shows in the Opera House.

Dressed in traditional costumes, the girls of the group presented a colourful sight.

Included in the party was the celebrated Witch Doctor, Jimmy The Rainmaker, whose appeals to the gods seemed a little futile on the fine sunny day of his arrival. However, due to his efforts or not, the following two days managed to provide the occasional shower.
