Notable Wedding

Armstrong--Te Purei: At the Toko-Toru-Tapu Church, Kaiti, Waiehu Te Purei, grand-niece of Mrs Te Tawhi Paati, Makaraka, to Captain Alan Guy Armstrong, son of Mr and Mrs G. J. Armstrong, Auckland. Mrs Armstrong is a grand-niece of the late Sir Apirana Ngata, and a niece of Mr Henry Ngata, Gisborne. Prior to her marriage, she was a check and training hostess with N.A.C. in Wellington.

Captain Armstrong is stationed at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and recently returned from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He had previously served in Malaya.

Friends and relatives chartered an aircraft from Wellington to attend the wedding. In the centre of the group are the bride and groom and Mr and Mrs Henry Ngata.
