Our Cover

The Girls from Maxim's, some of the cast of the Gisborne Operatic Society's forthcoming production "The Merry Widow", make a dazzling and leggy picture for our front cover. The nightclub's dancing girls are, from left: Sue White, Margaret Hamilton, Carol Schollum, Alison Armstrong, Marion Brett, and Joanna Schuering. Joining the girls in front is Vaencienne, played by Elizabeth Mossman.

Back Cover: The Waioeka River winds on its seaward journey to the Bay of Plenty in this scene, taken recently near the mid-way camp on the Waioeka Gorge highway, which can be seen passing around a scarred headland in the middle distance.
