NZCC officer cadet Roger Mortlock, son of Mr and Mrs C. A. Mortlock, 70 Hirini Street, who is the first Boys' High School cadet in 20 years, and the second ever, to pass the N.Z. Army regular force officer selection board. He will join the army next year and will go to an officer training school in Australia.

The Gisborne branch of Mobil Oil Ltd have taken delivery of a new articulated 1800 gallon tanker which is the first of this type in the country to be equipped with pumping gear. Driver Peter Corrin is seen with his new vehicle.
